Extension for Mandatory Aadhaar Seeding with UAN for EPF Members
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has announced an extension for the mandatory Aadhaar seeding with Universal Account Number (UAN) for filing Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR). This extension is now valid until 30th June 2024. This measure aims to ensure seamless integration and verification for various classes of establishments and specific regions.

- Extension Granted: The deadline for mandatory Aadhaar seeding with UAN has been extended to 30th June 2024. This extension applies to certain classes of establishments, including Beedi making, Building and Construction, and Plantation Industries (Tea, Coffee, Cardamom, Pepper, Jute, Rubber, Cinchona, Cashewnuts, etc.) and the North Eastern Region comprising Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura.
- Final Extension: The circular emphasizes that this extension is a last-time measure, and no further requests for extension will be entertained. Therefore, all concerned establishments must ensure compliance by the stipulated date.
- Efforts for Aadhaar Seeding: Zonal and Regional Offices are instructed to make all necessary efforts to seed Aadhaar with UAN. This includes launching special drives and holding camps in areas with high pending cases. Wide publicity and necessary assistance should be provided to achieve 100% Aadhaar-UAN seeding.
- Priority and Compliance: The seeding process should be given utmost priority. Offices are directed to extend all possible help to the establishments to meet the 100% seeding target by the extended deadline.
