The Union Cabinet approved the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PMVBRY) on 1 July 2025 to promote employment generation, enhance employability and strengthen social security across sectors, with special focus on manufacturing. Applicable to jobs created between 1 August 2025 and 31 July 2027, the scheme aims to generate over 3.5 crore jobs with an outlay of ₹99,446 crore. It provides incentives to first-time employees through EPF-linked benefits and supports employers with monthly incentives for sustained additional employment. The scheme builds on the success of earlier initiatives like ABRY, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable employment growth.
